The trade-offs in tape are the adhesive system, the backing material, and the print specification. Acrylic adhesive holds long-term and resists ageing on shelf, the right call for retail-pack. Hot-melt holds on cardboard with surface contamination and runs cleanly through high-speed dispensers. PP backing is the carton-seal default. PVC carries print better and unwinds with high tensile strength. Paper sits on the recyclable end of the range and is increasingly specified for circular-packaging accounts.
